Today we’re talking of a diet I discovered 4 years ago and that I find extremely interesting. This diet isn’t though to loose weight but to feel better and healthier. Until here if you’re absolutely not convinced, that norma, please continue reading and let me some more row to explain this deeper.
A blood type special diet… How come?
Let’s start with a little scientific explanation, your blood type depends on the antigenes its contains: A or B. There are 4 blood types:
- A for the one who have antigenes A
- B for those who have B
- AB for the lucky ones that have both
- O for the poor ones like me that have none
As you (may) know, the blood is feeding your body using what you’re eating. I find it then absolutely logical that as blood types are different, the way its appreciating a certain sort of food is also different.
Do you often have heartburns? Difficulty to digest? You may actually find the explication below.
The diet is easy, each blood type has its ‘favorite foods’ and ‘foods less suitable’ depending on its origin and history. It has been developed by a naturopathic physician Peter J. D’ADAMO and is based on the composition of food: “each blood group is adapted for the specific feed corresponding to its period of appearance”.
Enough talking, let’s see:
The Blood Type A appeared at the time of agriculture discovery. For individuals this type, the recommended diet is a vegetarian diet. Protein and high protein foods are therefore not recommended as well as dairy products. In all cases, the meat is limited.
The Blood Type B was found among nomadic peoples. The diet is balanced with a variety in possible food.
The Blood Type AB is the last of the blood groups to have appeared: 900 years after JC. It is a mutant of the two types A and B. The induced diet is the most varied, very balanced as group B, but also following the little veggie tendency of group A. (And besides, you’re universal receiver .. pff lucky).
The Blood Type O appeared about 50,000 years BC in the days of hunter-gatherers. They are also the universal donors, everyone can receive our blood, hence the importance of giving it). The recommended diet is a protein diet, therefore with a high consumption and mainly based on meat and / or fish. Regarding meat consumption, it is preferable to favor the consumption of lean meat and the practice of many physical activities.
Do you recognize yourself?
After all maybe not, food you love and you consume regularly may be in minus?
The main idea is to try to stop eating them to see if it changes anything to you. Keep in mind that this particular food is TO AVOID NOT TO DELETE permanently from your diet (well, if you see a positive change by doing it, you will do it yourself).
For instance, I’m O type (carnivorous type) but I turned pescetarian. However, following my painting I limited as much as possible beans and wheat which gave me heartburns.
Well, I am not a psycho-maniac of this diet, for dinner I made a gratin dauphinois (so French of me, I’m a cliché) made of white potatoes. In any case, once again, it is not made to deprive but to feel better. Then, if like me, from time to time an envy itch you: go for it!
Please be careful to eat balanced! The limit of this regime is that it can develop deficiencies if it is respected too drastically. Let me repeat this: ‘+ food’ is doing good to your body, it is NOT THE ONLY THING you can eat! Also, the table doesn’t specify neutral food so go ahead for everything else!
